I am going on vacation today. I did not know where I was going till today. The plan is to go to Rochester, Toronto, Rochester, Killington and then home, in that order. It should be fun, or so I hope.
Tried to watch Eureka on the Scifi website, firefox crashed half way through - I don’t have the patience to try again. Stupid firefox!

Just came back from the movies. Went with my wife to watch Tropic Thunder, it was sold out so we watched The Dark Knight instead. I had seen it already, but my wife had not. I actually enjoyed it more the second time around. My wife liked it too. It was a fun night out. Abba looked after the boys while we were gone - that was very brave and kind of him. Did not work out today - I really need to get to the gym tomorrow…

So I finally watched the Olympics opening ceremony. It was pretty cool, and very artistic. The guy running around the stadium top with the torch was very impressive. I already know that London’s gonna suck compared to this. After all they don’t have the culture and history that China has. I also don’t think that they have the discipline and organizational ability to pull off something like this. They’ll probably end up having the not so cute girl singing at the ceremony.

I had a nice weekend, now coming to an end. I biked to the gym and worked out, twice. At least I feel like my body is doing something worth doing. The weather was nice. I think I’m going to give submission wrestling another go. Hopefully my shoulders won’t fall off. I’m looking forward to my week off next week. It should be relaxing… hopefully it actually is.

Not a bad movie. It had some scenes that were identical to scenes from “Shaolin Soccer” and “Kung Fu Hustle” but it was still entertaining. My son actually sat through the whole movie, that’s something. I think that Stephen Chow is a talented filmmaker. The movie was a fun romp about a poor boy and an alien dog. The characters were cartoonish, and the plot was all over the place. I guess this should really not be a good movie, yet I did enjoy it most of the time.

I had already seem most of this movie on cable already but after watching “Hot Fuzz” I figured I should watch it again. It was not as good as I remembered it, but it was still pretty good. Definitely entertaining and fun. My wife and I both enjoyed it. I generally dislike zombie movies but this one was fun to watch.

This is a 1974 movie, and I thought it would be good; after all it has Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges in it. I was wrong. The pace of the movie was really slow. The characters were two dimensional. The plot was predictable and unintelligent. The humor was flat. All in all, pretty much a waste of time. I expect better from Mr. Eastwood.

I was all excited about going to the gym on my bike today. I woke up and the it was overcast. All the weather websites claimed a high probability of precipitation. So I did not bike to the gym. Which sorely disappointed me. Sure enough it never rained, and felt like a wuss not venturing out when I should have. To be honest what held me back was the belief that the rain would not be good for my bike, and I need that bike to exercise. In any case at least I drove to the gym and exercised a little. I did 6 reps of 135lbs just to prove to myself that I am still alive. The fact that I am reasonably pain free without Aleve is a good sign. I hope this trend continues.

Watched “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.” It was a good movie, though not my kind of movie. The acting was well done, actually all aspects of the movie were well done. It’s hard to comment on the dialog since my French is not what it used to be 28 years ago. The scene where the doctor stitches up his eye is rather disturbing. I guess the message of the movie was, don’t get a stroke because not everyone has a book deal.

Watched the movie on Friday night. Both my dad and my wife didn’t watch it, but I found it pretty funny. I liked these guys when they were on TV and most of their comments are still pretty hilarious. I guess I just like to laugh. The only parts I wasn’t too crazy about were when they were not commenting on the movie and just sitting around trying to be funny… not so funny.
